How about starting a list of projects we could build for a Bozeman Makers Faire?(better known as the Bozeman Makers Library FlashMob)
I just put "Bozeman Makers Faire" on the web for the first time... That is surprising.
I'd be into creating some T-Shirts for the group
Mark a vote for all things steampunk.
Edit: I'm making some Steampunk Goggles already!
We could put a few MiniPOV kits together and mingle with the Sweet Pea crowd. Might be fun at the night concerts.
link to the kit...and the tutorial / parts list
edit: what the heck... I bought a few, along with a USB to Serial cable. Definitely not a primary project, but it might be a fun way to get some visibility.
If not I'll get one myself!
Oh, I'll just give you one. It's programmable with a serial cable, but I bought a USB cable for it as well.
I have mine put together and it worked first try. It seems that I had a USB->Serial cable already. I can't really imagine why I had the cable, but it worked so I'm happy.
Oh hey, how much of a pain would a Theremin be? That's a good, noisy thing for people to interact with.
What do we need?
Do we have enough time?
How can I help?
Time would be the biggest constraint, I guess. I'm looking over schematics right now.
We could put a kit together pretty reasonably, the one I'm looking at only does pitch variation. Hmmm.
Just found this site that has a simple circuit. I think that I have all these parts beside a pc proto board.
This may be the same site that Daniel found. It is a pitch only device.
I once made a circuit like this one to blink LEDs on a desk plaque. I soldered a board together but did not clean the off the solder flux. The LEDs blinked in an astable pattern that would also fuzz out the TV (I couldn't afford cable in those days). when I cleaned the board it ran fine (unfortunately) and blinked at about 4 Hz.
Who knows why the flux made a difference in a digital circuit?
Found this from this search.
Cool! I haven't seen that one yet.
