Make :: Create :: Hack :: Learn

The Bozeman MakerSpace is a non-profit Makerspace / Hackerspace in Bozeman, MT. If you have an interest in making, modding things, new technology, or just want to learn how things work, this is to be the place for you. Our makerspace is a community workshop combined with a meeting space where people of similar interests or skills can converge to create, modify, learn, talk and build. You don't need to be proficient with any tools, skill, computer, or even know how to solder. All you need to the desire to learn or teach.

What is a MakerSpace?

A Makerspace / Hackerspace allows groups of people to pool resources and create a community of people with varied interests. These interests may include but are definitely not limited to: circuitry, robotics, soldering, woodworking, fabricating, programming, networking, hacking, bending, etc.

New Here?

If you are new to the Bozeman Makerspace or just new to makerspaces in general, we encourage you to come on down for one of our Thursday Open Build Nights. You can bring a project along, or you can just come check out the space.

Arduino ♥'s ARM

As much as I love blog spam myself, I couldn't resist posting some of the latest details about the new Arduino ARM Board.

---- Ripped straight from the Arduino Blog ----
Arduino Due, a major breakthrough for Arduino because we’re launching an Arduino board with a 32bit Cortex-M3 ARM processor on it. We’re using the SAM3U processor from ATMEL running at 96MHz with 256Kb of Flash, 50Kb of Sram, 5 SPI buses, 2 I2C interfaces, 5 UARTS, 16 Analog Inputs at 12Bit resolution and much more.

Yes my friends it is once again time for our biweekly Bozeman Makers mini-meet.

We are hosting biweekly mini meets for the Bozeman Makerspace. Come for festive discussions with fellow makers from around the Gallatin Valley. Beyond the typical ramblings about electronics, fire, and building cool stuff, we want to hear about your projects.

We would love to have everyone with interest attend!

So this is awesome -- mini-project

The lovely people at F11 Photography have given us a large box of disposable camera shells. It turns out the circuits inside of disposable camera shells are ideal for creating the high-voltage, low-current power required to build awesome Steampunk lights guaranteed to amaze your friends and enrage your enemies.

The Fabulous Logic Analyzer

So one of my current projects is a buffer circuit to work with the TFLA-01 software.

This is a software 8-channel Logic Analyzer with a sample rate of up to 1MHz, that works on any Linux or Windows computer that just happens to also have a DB-25 parallel port. (what? a PARALLEL PORT?). well anyway. I just designed a PCB and had it fabricated by and they sent along a duplicate board, so if anyone is interested to build one along with me, let me know and I can get the board to you.

Member Wiki is Alive!

The time is at hand to release the beast. The mediawiki based Bozeman MakerSpace : Member Wiki is ready for use. Feel free to make it your own. The basic point of a wiki is to allow you the member to post your ideas, images, schematics, links related to your projects. I've just setup the software and would like to know what you think.
